Farmers Markets

With Asheville’s focus on locally grown food there’s no surprise that the city hosts over a dozen farmers markets. Most are open through October with late Fall harvests of fruits and vegetables, with additional vendors specializing in breads, pastries, meat, fish, handmade pottery, flowers, plants, honey, and so much more. There are also holiday markets in November and December

Asheville’s tailgate markets are mini-festivals of abundance, with food trucks, live music, lots of people, dogs, and kids.  Even if you don’t need to stock up on vegetables during your stay in Asheville it’s worth a visit to take in the sights and sounds while enjoying a a cup of locally roasted coffee and a freshly baked snack.
